Things I’m Considering in 2015

Adventures, Debt Repayment, Jesus, Lawyering, Prayer, Quiet Time

Port Townsend, WA in December – it was so gorgeous

I have a few goals in 2015 that I am not labeling resolutions. Instead, I just want to focus on and accomplish these things to really round out the health of my life and make 2015 my best year yet!

1. Spiritual

First, I want to get back on track with having a quiet time. I was so solid and consistent on this for so long. Then, 2014 came along with it’s chaosย and instability (in a good, but all consuming way), and I got super off track.

I’m starting this goal by beginning small. My first goal is just to wake up on time. Instead of setting my alarm for 6:45 and hitting snooze until 7:15 every day – starting each morning with guilt for not getting up and having quiet time – I’m setting my alarm for 7:15. Then I’ll work backwards. That’s what I had to do when I started having a consistent quiet time in 2011 (Thanks, Good Morning Girls!) so I just have to accept now that I’m back to square one.

2. Financial

Second, I will pay off all of my credit card debt. In the last two months I’ve actually paid off about $2,000. It’s crazy. The way I’m doing this is 1) obsessively checking Mint, 2) the Dave Ramsey Snowball Method; 3) pre-scheduled credit card payments every pay check instead of once a month; and 4) listening to several financial podcasts every day for motivation.

3. Physical

Third, I want to run a 5K.My major inspiration in this goal is Megan. In order to do this I have to get better at going to the gym after work. I had a great habit going in this area. Then I had several trials back to back last summer and you’d think my whole world imploded. So much went off track over the summer because I was so busy and burnt out at work.

Well, 2015 isn’t interested in 2014’s excuses. It’s interested in getting back on track, moving forward and taking life by the horns.

What are you hoping to accomplish in 2015? I’m not necessarily calling these my resolutions, but they are my goals. What are yours?

Right there with you on the snooze button. I did the same– set my alarm for 6:45 and would wake up an hour later– so even worse than you on that one!
