February Goals
Personal:
Read 1 Book and Listen to 1 Audiobook – Done!
This month I read After You, by JoJo Moyes and listened to Better than Before, by Gretchen Rubin. I was up until after midnight finishing After You last Friday. It took me about 40 pages to get into, but then after the fifth chapter, I couldn’t put it down!
Beth Moore Quiet Time – Fail
I gave up on this entirely, and took up the Naptime Diaries 40 Days with Jesus devotional instead. I’m loving it! I guess that different resources are important for different seasons and right now, a deeper dive into my prayer life is what I’m needing. It’s been wonderful.
You can read more about my tips on having a quiet time here.
Blogging:
Participate In One Instagram Giveaway and One Blog Giveaway – Done and done!
I actually participated in two blog giveaways. You can still enter to win $500 to amazon here!
3,000 Instagram Followers and 2,000 Twitter Followers – Fail
I didn’t meet this, but I came close. If it weren’t for the waves of unfollows after Instagram loop giveaways, I definitely would have met that goal. (Ugh) Twitter finally overcame the 1,550 slump I’ve been at for a year so I’m stoked, even though I’m about 150 shy of my goal there as well.
Fitness:
Work Out 3+ Times a Week – Done!

You have to take advantage of the sun when it decides to come out in February – on a run around the neighborhood.
Yay! And I feel FANTASTIC! I even switched to 8 pound weights at barre sometimes! I love this set of weights from Amazon and am thinking about ordering myself one for those days that I can’t get to barre! (Are you interested in starting a barre workout? Check out my must haves!)
Financial:
Continue my Debt Snowball – Done!
Slow and steady wins the race, right? I am so anxious to be done with this debt! I have a few months left on my plan. I’m right on time to be “consumer debt” free, but since I switched my goals up and paid off my car before my credit cards, it feels like I haven’t made much progress over the last couple of months. I know I have, but gah! This process makes me never want to have credit card debt again, which I suppose is a great side-effect.
March Goals
Personal:
Read 1 Book and Listen to 1 Audiobook – This goal will be present all year long. On the reading list this month:
The Joy Luck Club, by Amy Tan – Physical Book. My grandma gave me this book years ago and I never finished it. So it’s coming off the shelf for March!
Rising Strong, by Brene Brown & The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, by Marie Kondo – Audiobooks. I have two because I started Rising Strong mid month and I’m already almost done with it. Wahoo!
Continue with the Naptime Diaries Lent Devotional – I want to complete the whole 40 days. Are you also using the #NTDLent book? I’d love to follow you on instagram/twitter etc. Leave your username in the comments!
You can read more about my tips on how to organize a quiet time here.
Blogging:
Participate In One Instagram Giveaway and One Blog Giveaway – This is another goal that I will have all year long. I’m not sure if I’ll do a loop again this month. I’m thinking about maybe teaming up with two or three other bloggers and doing like a mini-loop. It would also be a mini-prize (no macbook + a $500 gift card), but perhaps those who enter will be more likely to remain followers because the accounts would be a similar niche to WMSB. Do you have any thoughts on that?
1,300 Pinterest Followers – As I write this post, I’m sitting at 952 Pinterest Followers.
Why: I have had a lot of goals in the past about writing x number of posts, or spend x number of minutes writing per day. These are great goals, however I have a ton of content on WMSB and spend very little time promoting it. This means that I write a post and then after a week or so, no one sees it. I’m hoping that by focusing on social media, along side writing (which happens naturally because I love it), I will see greater success in this space.
Fitness:
Work Out 3+ Times a Week – This goal showed great results last month so I want to keep it up!
Run One 5k – My first 5k was one year ago, and J and I are going to run it again this year! I’m also still on the fence about the Hot Chocolate Run. I know people love it, but it starts at the crack of dawn here! Ugh. Decisions.

Last year’s Shamrock & Roll
Financial:
Continue My Debt Snowball – All of the payments are scheduled so this should work out A-OK!
Give Myself a Reward – I’m starting to feel some serious debt repayment fatigue. It’s been awhile since I’ve given myself a reward, and debt repayment hit all time highs last month to hustle for some extra cash flow (grading bar exam essays) so that I could immediately put those funds toward repaying the macbook I bought in early January. I realized today that I was feeling burnt out and to nip that in the bud, I’ll be brainstorming how to treat myself.
What are your goals for March? How did February go for you? Are you still on track for your resolutions? If not there’s nothing stopping you from figuring it out now, or setting new ones!
