Doug and Earl were in for a treat on Tuesday night when I came home with a bag of Purina Pro Plan Shredded Blend. I got home kind of late after going to barre and watching the Zags win the WCC Championship (I’m still jumping up and down on the inside!). I couldn’t wait to see what they thought, so I did a taste test and even though they had already eaten dinner, they loved it!
You guys know I love these cats. I’ve never been a dog person, but there’s something about a pet who is equally as independent as I am, yet also loves to cuddle as much as I do… What more could I want? There are also a lot of health benefits that come from having a cat! Studies show that having a cat increases serotonin and decreases cortisol. Maybe the reason I am having such a great day is that Doug plopped himself right into my lap this morning while I watched the news and drank my coffee!
Having a cat can also help people recover from trauma, or detect seizures if that’s a health issue of theirs. Doug and Earl have some other great qualities as well. Their personalities have been strong since we brought them home from the Humane Society, and each week they learn new ways to show us what they want from their humans. I figured today I would tell you about #MyGreatCat and what they thought of Purina Pro Plan Shredded Blend cat food when we sat on the floor and gave it a taste test. (Note: This is not human food. No humans actually consumed said cat food.)
Not only do Doug and Earl provide all kinds of health benefits like described in that link above, they also have some pretty awesome talents. #MyGreatCat can do all kinds of tricks. How about yours?
Doug wants Purina to know that he’s practicing for his cat food bag modeling audition. He’s got the, “This is delicious” lip-licking movement down!
He also loves reading books, helping me blog and watching the morning news. So as you can see, he’s not just a pretty face, he also loves to read books and talk smart things. (name that quote!)
So that they wouldn’t binge all night, I put the food away, and planned to provide them with a nutritious breakfast the next day. The cats go outside and love taking adventures in the neighborhood. Doug is pretty patient about everything in life, and if he’s ready to come inside but no one is home, or no one sees him through a door or window, he will wait until we call him in.
Earl, on the other hand, taught himself an amazing trick! He has figured out how to open the front door. He cannot physically open the door, but sometimes you’ll be sitting inside and hear a clicking noise. It’s Earl, letting you know he’s ready to come inside. Sometimes, when you get home, he will beat you to the door and starting hitting the handle before you can make it up the porch!
We don’t know how he learned this, but he is always watching the things we do. So it makes sense that after watching his humans go in and outside, he noticed we all pushed the top of this metal thing and the door opened. Does your cat do any tricks?
These two love-bugs bring such joy and stress-relief to our lives. It’s the least I can do to pamper them with quality pet food. You may remember that they’re total snobs about what they eat, and have gone on hunger strike if they don’t have Purina brand food in their bowls. But now that I know they like the shredded blend food, I will definitely be buying it more often!
Feeding my cats good quality food is important to me, especially since they go outside. Purina Pro Plan Shredded Blend provides Doug and Earl with a meal that is 40% real meat, in fact, real protein is the primary ingredient! It is a different texture in their meal, which maybe isn’t important to some people, but I love feeling like I’m spoiling them and giving them a variety in their food. I don’t like to eat the same thing every day! The food also has prebiotic fiber to promote their digestive health, not to mention Omega fatty acids for their healthy coat!
Doug and Earl normally share a food dish, but I had to give them their own for the Shredded Blend!
I know some of you are on a budget like me, and might feel risk adverse to buying a new bag of cat food in case your picky felines might not eat it. So if Doug and Earl’s honest review isn’t enough, you can read reviews from other people here as well. With an average of 4.2 stars in 20 THOUSAND reviews, you can trust that odds are good your cat will love it. We all know that cats won’t pretend to like anything so those are reliable reviews!

March 14, 2016 at 9:38 amSuch cute fur babies. My cats love to help me write blogs and coach clients. Joey is a scaredy cat and Chloe is an Amazon warrior princess so between the two of them they keep me quite busy.

March 16, 2016 at 1:03 pmThe only tricks our cats do is waking us up at 5am. I love watching videos of cats doing tricks though! My cats love it and are now refusing to eat their ‘old’ food! I’ll intentionally put their old food in one side of the dish and they won’t eat it. I guess they are now @Proplancats

March 30, 2016 at 11:30 amAwe. Doug and Earl are adorable. I love all their tricks. We used to have a cat named Lola, but had to give her to a friend due to my allergies. I’ll be passing your great review off to them so they can let her try this.
