Five on Friday

Adventures, Fitness, friendships, Relationships

I haven’t done a linkup in AGES, so now seems like the right time! The theme is to write about 5 things I’m loving right now. That shouldn’t be too hard, right?

I spent Saturday on the water with J’s family while he worked. It was strange to not have him there at first, but once I got settled it was really fun to have some girl talk time. Plus, there’s literally no comparison to a day on the water, especially in Washington. It doesn’t have the soft sand or volleyball, but it has basically everything else.

On Saturday I was also starting to really question why I thought it was a good idea to register for a second 5k. The feeling of accomplishment after completing my first one was incredible, but I also wanted to cry during part of it and limped around for two weeks after.

But on Sunday my friend M and I refused to give into the 5k pressure and showed up to the start line! Not only did I feel like I was in much better shape, we left our phones and watches behind and just ran for “fun.” We’re pretty competitive but were still shocked when our “fun” was a PR for both of us (as adults at least)! It was so exciting and I text J as soon as I got back to my phone to let him know I ran it over a minute faster than our 5k in March!

I’m still stoked!

The second night of my church’s women’s conference is tonight. The first year of Oxygen literally changed my life and opened my eyes to how much unforgiveness and hatred I was holding in my heart toward my last relationship.

If you have the opportunity to go to a women’s ANYTHING, I’d strongly recommend it. There’s something that really flourishes when we can put down our walls and open our hearts to be vulnerable with other ladies.

I am going to a wedding at the end of this month and have been searching for a dress on basically every website out there. I started getting emails from a site called Mila and Mara. Honestly, I don’t know why. I don’t remember subscribing. But they have great deals and cute clothes!

Then I saw Hazel and Olive on Instagram (a co-worker suggested I follow them). Their site is similar to Mila and Mara. I was so stoked when I saw this dress and knew it was “the one.”

New babies. Two great friends of mine had a baby 12 days ago. I got to meet him this week and let me tell you, a little bit of time snuggling a ten day old baby is so swoon-worthy it’s amazing.

Do you have a 5 on Friday post? Leave the link in the comments, I’d love to read it!

Please don’t do a 55k. That sounds miserable! haha They’re pretty fun, actually. And the silly ones often have groupons or living social deals.

Oh my gosh, so good! It’s such a hard event to shop for. You obviously can’t wear anything white, and sometimes black is out of the question. Finding the right dress is a total accomplishment :).
