It’s Friday! Yay! This week has been totally exhausting so I am looking forward to a glass of wine 9.5 hours from now. So, let’s talk about Five AWESOME things that happened this week instead of dwelling on the stress and lack of sleep.
I’m running a 5k tomorrow! I’ll be participating in The Great Inflatable Race! It sounds like a crazy, fun time. I’m kind of a klutz so that should be interesting haha. Also, this might be a 5k that I actually pay the outrageous photo fees to order at least one photo of my girlfriends and I acting a fool while working out haha.
Apparently I have slacked on my appearance at work now that I don’t have to be in court 3-5 days a week. I know I stopped curling my hair very often. But yesterday I wore a dress, curled my hair and did a full face of makeup. It was kind of a big deal to everyone. So I think I need to step my game back up, even though I spend zero time in court and most of my time in my office reading and writing things.
I bought my ticket for BlogPodium! I’m going to be an imposter since I’m not Canadian. But a blogger conference less than 4 hours from my house, on a weekend? I’m in! I’m super excited because it will be my first time out of the country. After YEARS of promises, I can finally make good on my deal to go visit Nadine in her country instead of mine :). I know I’ve written about hanging out with her, but I don’t have time this morning to look for it so you’ll just have to go through and read all of my archives from the last 3 years. haha jk Here’s a photo instead!
If you’re going to BlogPodium too, please leave me a comment! I’d love to get to know people before I arrive.
J and I, with his dad and step-mom, finally saw Jurassic World last weekend! I LOVED it. I don’t know if it’s because I’m just nostalgic for the whole theme, or if it was a great movie, but I thought the whole movie was fantastic and very well done. I heard a lot of reviews that it was just OK, or kind of blah. But my heart was pounding by the end! If you haven’t seen it yet, hurry up!
My goal is to only have one gourmet coffee a (work) week. I allow myself a bonus coffee on weekends if we are on our way to some adventure or if I’m working on something and need to get out of the house. I’ve done really well since writing myself a sticky note on my desk to remind me why it’s a great goal. This week was so stressful that I ended up getting a mental health coffee on Wednesday. I tell myself those don’t count. Sometimes you have a really terrible day, and the only thing that makes me feel better is a white chocolate mocha. Hello, my name is Brittany, and I’m addicted to coffee.
I hope you all have wonderful weekends!
