This weekend was jam packed with activities! It also pushed me over the limit to officially be on a Spending Freeze until the end of October. But it’s going to be worth it.
Despite being a short week, last week was as exhausting as I predicted. I got off of work on Friday and wanted to go straight home and go to sleep. Unfortunatley (fortunately?) I had RSVP’d for Barre so I had no choice but to go work out. I’m telling ya, the only way I’ve maintained a consistent work out routine, and therefore seen incredible results, is that my Barre Studio requires us to register for workouts and there are consequences for late canceling or not showing up at all. Gone are the days that I’d say all day, “I’m going to Yoga at 5:30” and then at 4:45 saying, “Sure, I’ll go to happy hour!”
I was really glad I worked out. I always feel better after I do. But I did go home and sit on my couch surfing the internet for the rest of the night. I went to bed early and didn’t even care that I’m now an old lady.
On Saturday I crossed an item off my todoist blog to do list that’s been there for 77 days. I updated my About Me page. It was an actual update, not just a few proof reading changes here and there. I’m glad to finally have the page reflecting what WMSB is really about these days.
Then, I went into the office for a few hours. I needed to get some things done. I’m leaving a little early on Friday to catch a wedding in Idaho. I’m sure I’ll work more during the week as well, but I wanted to make some progress on a few things before the week started. Since I went to bed early, I woke up early. Despite being a Saturday and spending an hour on my About Me page, I was still in the office before 9:30.
This was perfect because I was meeting my girlfriend G for a shopping adventure! The wedding is formal attire and G is who let me borrow her Dolce & Gabbana dress and Louboutin shoes for the last wedding. She got those amazing clothes at a super secret shop that’s basically a cotoure thrift shop. It’s about an hour from Tacoma. We planned to leave at 12:30 which left the perfect amount of time to bust out a ton of work on a weekend and have a fun reward!
It took a lot of treasure hunting and a lot of fitting room visits but I found two potential dresses AND a full J. Crew Suit! I found the suit after I was done shopping and G was checking out the accessories. It was $50 for both pieces, but 90% of the store was 50% off. I couldn’t believe it. I also couldn’t beleive it when both the jacket and the pants of the suit fit! It was amazing! I love when shopping fate works out like that! haha That $25 J. Crew Suit has become my top shopping find ever. (Prior #1 holder: the Truth and Pride silk blazer I got 90% off at Nordstrom Rack – $30). Quality suits are worth every penny, and I’m sure I’ll treasure this one for a long time.
On Sunday, J invited a bunch of people over for a day of football. It was basically an open house and people could come and go as they pleased. It was awesome. I can’t even tell you how happy I am that football is back.
The best thing about football parties is getting to make comfort food. I spent an hour that morning making monkey bread and throwing the ingredients for chili into the crockpot. J’s cat Doug was a great helper.
Then, the Cowboys game was on. Yay! I have to tell you, I lost my mind during that last drive – more than normal. I was jumping up and down for a solid minute. Amazing!
But the most amazing thing that happened was J and I decided to be spontaneous and go to the Cowboys-Seahawks game in Dallas!!!! It will be my first NFL game ever. Going to the new stadium has been on my bucket list and I cried when we booked the tickets.
I. Can’t. Wait.
How was your weekend?
