Surf the Web Saturday – v. 31

Emotional, How-To

I can’t believe it’s the weekend before Christmas, can you?! The only reason I can tell that a holiday is coming up is that I feel like I can’t finish a single project. I’m being pulled in all different directions as everyone else tries to finish their projects before the holiday.

Do you need a few minutes to yourself to decompress? Check out the links below for a little mental getaway.

great blog posts

Lydia at Frugal, Debt Free Lift (speaking my language, amiright?) shares a great DIY Spices and Seasonings tutorial for those people in your life that you really want to shower with gifts, but simply can’t afford it. Or, even if you can, you want something meaningful and handmade. I think I might actually make these for our white elephant gift exchange (shh), not because they’re silly, but because I’ve finished all of my shopping (what?!) and perfectly hit the limit of my Christmas budget.

I was chatting with a gal over at Casper Mattress and she shared that she loves these Surf the Web Saturday posts. Isn’t that the sweetest? She asked me what my favorite Holiday movie is and what my must have items are. I don’t keep a TV in my room but you better believe that my laptop, a cozy blanket, several pillows, chocolate and wine are the perfect bed side accompaniment as I watch The Holiday for the 1,000,000th time. In fact, I think that’s what I’ll do this weekend!

In case you’d like to “join me” Casper created this personalized checklist just for WMSB readers!

Holiday Movie Night Checklist

Winter can be a really hard season. First, because it’s gloomy and damp. But second because the holidays can just be rough. If you have family struggles, homesickness, final exams, lost someone you love, or generally are just struggling, Laura at The Wonder Forest shares 5 ways to boost your mood. Seriously check it out if you’re feeling the winter blahs. And of course, if it’s something more serious, please go talk to a professional. I do all year long and it makes an amazing difference.

and last, but definitely not least, the final relaxing mental break post is…

Nadine is giving you permission to have a second day. Are you frustrated? Angry? Snapping at people? Grouchy? Don’t worry. She has a lot of grace just for you.

I’m thinking of what to do with this series. I really enjoy sharing these links with you guys and I notice that many of you click over and read them. Would anyone be interested in making it a link up? I like that it’s very organic now so I worry about a linkup, but I also really do want to hear from you guys about great posts/articles you’ve found. What do you think?
