I received my first Rocksbox this week, and I can’t even tell you guys how excited I am. I am a Rocksbox It Girl, so I was given a few months free to try Rocksbox and tell you guys about it on social media. I was not asked to blog about it in any way, nor am I being compensated for this post. However, if you do sign up with any of these links, I’ll get a referral bonus. But then YOU can share your referral link with your friends and get a bonus too! So you can know for sure that this is all my honest opinion and I know you guys need to know about this re-branded subscription box!
Rocksbox is a premium jewelry rental service. For only $19 a month (Spoiler Alert: Get one month free with promo code: “brittanywmsbxoxo“!) you will receive a gorgeous box of three pieces of jewelry. You can keep them for however long you want, but you’d probably want to return them within a month so that you can make good use of your monthly fee and get some new styles.
If you fall in love with your pieces, you can purchase them, but you don’t have to and can simply send the pieces back right when you’re done with them and get three more without any additional cost, just the monthly fee that comes out on the same day each month!
When you set up your Rocksbox account you will fill out a very brief survey and then go through a long photo-gallery of jewelry pieces where you can mark the ones you like the best. Your stylist looks at your favorites and then styles your box based on those preferences.
You aren’t charged until your box ships. Their site says 1-2 weeks, but mine shipped in only a couple of days. The shipment was here only a few days after that, but it was held at the post office on Saturday because I wasn’t there to accept it. (Thank God, could you imagine a box of jewelry being stolen? Ugh!)
When I got it on Monday I rushed to open it, but I saw that everything was packed so neatly and I knew I had to wait. I wanted to show you guys the unboxing and I’d never be able to get it back together so nicely!
The suspense was killing me!!! Finally, I got home, said hello to my roommate, and went up to my office to open the box!
The box is packed in such a crisp and clean manner. I loved it! Doesn’t getting pretty mail make you feel so glamorous?
The box was personalized with my name, which made me feel even more VIP. Each piece was packed neatly and protected by bubble wrap. I was relieved to see it wasn’t going to be stuck together or tangled up after the shipping process.
I LOVE Kendra Scott’s jewelry. It’s so classy while also being trendy, which is hard to do. I’m not sure how frequently her pieces are included in the Rocksboxes but there are a lot of them on the wish list page.
I don’t know my ring size, so I guessed, and also put a note about the fact that it was a guess. I was sent this super cool infinity ring that can be adjusted in size. Winning! Now I have time to figure out my ring size. (Anyone know how to do that? Do I just go to a jewelry store and try to leave without buying anything?)
I am currently obsessed with druzy stones, and these earrings hit that mark perfectly.
Statement necklaces are easy ways to class up a work outfit, but the ones in my jewelry box were all either outdated or just didn’t fit my style anymore. I recently donated them, and some dresses, to a foster care prom dress charity. I haven’t found any new statement necklaces that I love enough to buy in stores since. But this statement necklace… This necklace gets all the heart eyes!
The box came at a perfect time. I am going out of the country for work and now I have three fashionable pieces to wear to this conference! I am going to try to resist buying one of the items, but I have a feeling I’ll cave on at least one. If I do, they’re all priced at about what I would expect for a higher quality piece of jewelry (think: Nordstrom Rack and not Target), and each month you get $10 in Shine Spend money so that helps too!
When you’re ready to ship your items back, you simply take the same envelope it was shipped in and stick the included return label over the shipping label. So easy AND a great use of resources to not use a brand new envelope!
Real Time RocksBox Update:
I am back from my vacation, and am pleased to announce that these items were perfect for my work-conference by day and sight-seeing experience by night!
The Perry Street Brinley Necklace
This necklace was so perfect for the black dress gala that Nadine invited me to on Friday night.
If it weren’t for social media I’d keep this necklace. But now, all of my Facebook friends (and now you guys!) know I’ve worn it already. So back to Rocksbox it goes, after a night of fashion show glamour!
The Kendra Scott Carrine Earrings
This is when a rental box is perfect for trying new things. I loved these earrings when I took them out of the bag, but in practicality they weren’t that great. If they weren’t getting caught in my loose knit scarf, they were getting caught in my hair. The clasp is on the bottom of the earring, and while that made them easy to put on, it was basically like a fishing hook, ready to attach to anything that came within an inch of them. They’re definitely going back, but they did spruce up my outfit for one day/night.
The Nashelle Infinity X Ring
This ring was perfect for classing up my outfit on a day of travel. I love the way it fit and looked. I am sending my jewelry back today and have not yet decided if I will keep this ring or not. I love it, but I also want to appreciate this subscription for the rental service it is, and not get into the habit of buying a lot of jewelry. Since I can see myself wearing this all the time, it’s going to be a hard decision!
I can absolutely see this being a subscription that I keep every month, and you know that’s a high standard for me because budgeting is a key part of my weekly life! I don’t waste money on subscriptions unless they bring major value to my life. This one does, and I’m so excited.
If you’d like to give Rocksbox a try and see if it’s a great fit for you, head on over to their site and enter promo code “brittanywmsbxoxo” to get your first box free! That’s a $19 value!
Which one of these pieces was your favorite? Should I keep the ring?! Ah! I need your help!
