Are you living a life that feels out of place? Does your life look different than you planned, either because you’re in a different city, a different career, a different relationship status or a different financial situation? Or maybe you have all of the things you planned for, but they’re not what you had hoped. You just feel like there’s something more. I’ve been there, and I know how that feels.

Where My Soul Belongs has been my home on the web since December 2012.

It has chronicled my move to Washington State after a heart break. I’ve shared my journey of coming to terms with singleness in my late 20’s. And my career path of practicing law as an associate to in house counsel, and at some point in the last six years, finally starting to enjoy being a lawyer.

I’m glad you’re here, and am excited to journey through life with you! I’ve learned an important lesson on this blog, and that’s that no matter how it feels, God has you right where you belong. When I started this blog I had no idea what that meant, except that when I pulled into Western Washington, my car packed full of my belongings, I felt like I was home in a city I’d never been to in my life.

I never imagined I would find my way to the Pacific Northwest, or that I’d discover that I love outdoor hobbies I hated when I lived in Nevada.

I never imagined I’d spend time writing about how to run 5ks or work out and be healthy. But I feel better at 30 (ouch) than I did at 21.

I never thought I’d finally make progress on paying down debt, yet I made my final car payment 5 months early and I’m on track for my goal to pay off all of my credit cards even after sort of accidentally buying my first home. I sometimes miss coming home to surprise packages at my door because I didn’t remember what I bought during an online shopping spree. But I promise you that I never miss making the minimum monthly visa payments! Debt repayment is HARD, but the reward is great. Every debt I pay off feels like a massive weight off of my shoulders and I’d love to encourage you on your journey to a more financially fit life.

Update: On August 19, 2016 I PAID OFF ALL OF MY CREDIT CARD DEBT! I wrote a three-part series on how I got into that $11,000+ mess, and how I got out of it. Maybe one day I’ll figure out exactly how much money I paid after interest and all those times I charged something during debt-repayment. But that sounds horrible, so maybe not.

I never thought I’d still be unmarried at this age, but I can’t even tell you how grateful I am for the opportunity to learn so much about myself, travel without needing permission, and … seriously… that I was rescued from what a wreck my life would have been if I’d married any of the men I’d dated in the past. I’ve been dating J for slightly a year and a half now, and it’s been the most fun, exciting, life improving 18 months of my life. God has a plan. For real.

Seattle Lifestyle Blogger About Me

Even if he is a Seahawks fan.

As you can probably tell, my life in 2016 doesn’t look anything like I thought it would. It took a couple years, but life is so much more peaceful (and wonderful) when I appreciate it as it is, right where I belong. I hope you feel the same. And if not, don’t worry. I’ve been there too. I meant it at the top of this page when I said it’s a journey. But the reward is so, so sweet.

If you stick around, you’ll see that most of the posts here fit a few certain themes. WMSB’s focus right now is on living a life that’s personally, spiritually, financially and physically fit. Let’s get started!
